Let's Get This Blog Started . . .

Easter Monday 2007. We've had 4 consecutive days off which has meant lots of time to dream and discuss as a family about our upcoming RTW ("round-the world") adventure. We decided we should start a blog, like the rest of humanity it seems, to record our travels and even our thoughts and ideas leading up to our trip. So, even though we don't start our year away until Summer 2009, God willing, this is the beginning of the blog . . .

I have always loved to travel. Serious wanderlust. Fortunately I married a like-minded individual. And fortunately our two boys are definitely up for sharing this adventure with us. Mitchell is now in his last term of Gr. 4 but will be just finished his Gr. 6 year when we go. Jackson is in Senior Kindergarten and will have just completed Gr. 2 by the summer of 2009. Home-schooling is one thing I'm a little nervous about. Like most young boys, the school aspect is somewhere near, oh let's see, the bottom of the list of their priorities. But we know this will be an incredible education for them in ways we cannot even imagine yet.
